The Ebola Virus or Ebola Hemorrhagic Fevor (EHV) is a virus spread by contact with bodily fluids, and symptoms generally exhibit themselves within two to three weeks of exposure. These symptoms include fever, sore throat, muscle pain and headaches. Vomiting, diarrhea and rash follow, and victims can exhibit external and internal bleeding. Currently the highest mortality rate for Ebola (EVD) has been documented at 89%.

There is a current active outbreak Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria in and organizations like Samaritan's Purse are actively aiding the affected areas.

How to prevent infection? According to the CDC official website, Ebola is spread through

• blood or body fluids (including but not limited to urine, saliva, feces, vomit, and semen) of a person who is sick with Ebola
• objects (like needles and syringes) that have been contaminated with the virus infected animals
• Ebola is not spread through the air or by water, or in general, food. However, in Africa, Ebola may be spread as a result of handling bush meat (wild animals hunted for food) and contact with infected bats.
• Contact with bodies of victims as Ebola is still infectious after death. (Reports indicate that many infections in Africa are due to burial rituals)

Prevention is done through avoiding infected individuals, or if you must be in contact, wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). All of which must be discarded if they come into contact with infected material or potentially infected material.
